Unique Photo Images
Another Antelope View
13 years ago I called this same photograph in B&W "Cathedrals of Stone". This image was much easier to accomplish in digital color. This was a 13 second exposure at F 16 with ISO set at 400.
Return to the Canyon
Having photographed Antelope Canyon in 1994 in black and white, I now wanted to re-shoot the same location in Digital Color. Here is one of the images.
More from Zion National Park
This view of the Virgin River taken in Infrared was split toned in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
Zion National Park in IR
Zion National Park is beautiful in the Fall with the golden leaves and red rocks. This image was taken near the trail head to the Narrows. The black and white of infrared becomes a study of rock textures and interesting tones of grey. The blue sky becomes black without any filters.
Think Spring
I really do like the beauty of Winter and fresh snow, but I got the 2008 Class Review from the Clearing in Door County, Wisconsin which reminded me that I am teaching Digital Photography with Mark
Southard on May 25-31. We picked this date because of all the beautiful wild flowers at The Clearing that are available each year around Memorial Day. Here are a few of the wild flowers from May 2007.
The delicate "Columbine" is pollinated by humming birds, moths and butterflies which have long tongues in order to reach the nectar."Yellow Lady Slippers" are found where ever you turn. The "White Double Trillium" found at The Clearing is very rare. For more information about the class and how to register for the class in May 2008, call 877-854-3225
Color into Black & White
Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ is beautiful red rock. Taking the Ansel Adams approach and changing the digital color image into B&W is rewarding and exciting. With our modern digital tools we can now actually have more controls over the contrast and grey tones of our images.
Christmas 2007
Christmas 2007 is not a "white Christmas" and that is OK. I took a pix of our front entry and then roamed around the neighborhood for photos of lights.
