Rocks always give me wonder. How old is it? Where was it found? How did it get to it's present location. How can I use it as a background texture in my photography? Can I use it in many ways.
Walking around with 10 year old Matthew is like being in an outdoor nature wonderland. At 10 years old he has an extremely sharp eye for the wonders of nature. He calls this pix Frozen Jungle.
My grandson said this is his best flying chicken. He throws it up in the air and sure enough the chicken (hen) does a great landing. Even with this activity the hen lays an egg a day.
This is a Christian Band called "Zero". I put them coming out of a rock because I thought that they were rock solid. Four of the members are my grandchildren.
This beautiful location in Des Plaines, IL was discovered by my friend Ernie. I have gone back many times to re-shoot at this location. This is one of my updated Infrared Images. The location is the South End of Prairie Lakes Park near Algonquin Street.
This time a did an HDR making the image in the traditional method. Still the shadows and highlights worked. This also was hand held.
I hand held a P&S camera and did a HDR to really show off the true mess that I had in the garage. Tomorrow the after.

On my photo a day quest, I am pushing color ideas. I photographed these large spools of thread and then took a second photograph while moving the camera. Both images were combined and using blending modes and layer opacity, I came up with this image of bright cheerful colors.
In my morning walk today I decided to continue to photograph daily. My emphasis today was "Color". I shot the first good color object that I saw which was part of this fire plug. My 2 mile walk was not in vain. I got the aerobic exercise and did some street photography.
Deep Sea fisherman use all kinds of net and these were piled up on shore for repairs.
Slow shutter speed, a Fall Burning Bush with full leaves and wow! I am not sure what I will do with this image but it was fun making and I like the colors from nature.
A very cold windy day to walk in the Chicago Botanical Garden. Set the ISO at 1600 and shot three hand held images with a P&S camera for HDR. It worked fine for my use.
This photographer stood still and did not move as I shot 7 images using the AEB mode of the camera. I than combined the images in Photomatix Pro and finished with Topaz and CS4.
