Unique Photo Images
Passion for the Abstract
Technique alone is never enough. You have to have passion. Technique alone is just an embroidered pot holder. (Raymond Chandler)
Taking a simple landscape in black and white and making a watercolor type wash is more exciting to me than the realistic image from the day before.
Indiana Amish Country
This Infrafed Image using two tones helps to define the old wood of the barn.

Moving Waters at Cave Point-Door County, WI
The colors of the water comes from three separate exposures with the camera on a tri-pod. You then take the red channel from one image, the green channel from the second image and the blue channel from the third image and combine them into a new image and here is the result.
A Winter Walk in the Park
No snow, but the Infrared Image with green grass looks like snow. Image was photographed on December 25, 2006.

The Photographer
Leonard Gorden, Photographer, Teacher and on going photo award winner. Leonard led the pack into digital photography. He has always been light years ahead of everyone. One of Leonard's biggest accomplishment was to get people interested in digital photography before the present wave of change. Thanks Leonard for you leadership in the new world of photography.
Global Warming - End of the Glacier
One can see in Alaska how the Glaciers are getting smaller by the month.

The Hinge
I found this old hinge on a cript in Graceland Cemetery. The craftmanship is evident of both the design made by the famous Chicago Architect John Root and the skill of the blacksmith who forged the hinge in the late 1800's. It is amazing when you think of the hand tools and all the work to make this hinge for a single, one time memorial to an individual. The monochrome image shows off both the aging and the overall look of the original function of the hinge.
Space Ship at 957
A ridge of snow, a jet contrail and the un-forseen lens flare makes for this Infrared special.
This is not the Swiss Alps, But look at the "Peaks"
These Infrared Photos of Snow melting give a far away look of mystery.
On A Hill Far Away - in Oil
This was really fun today. I like the result and my new image really looks like an oil painting and not a photograph, which was my goal. I am learning the use of Painter IX.5 software through the use of Jeremy Sutton's DVD's.
Chalk Drawing of the "Bridge"
Five Birch Trees in Watercolor - New
The lightness of watercolors works with the 5 birch trees. The trick is painting in the medium of watercolor and leaving the mode of straight photography.

Beginning Watercolor 101 - 5 Birch Trees
From the original photograph and transformed in CS2 for a watercolor image. I have a long way to go with watercolors.

I missed yesterday's blog but.....
I had more fun taking this Infrared image and making an old fashioned looking image. More to come.
