Churches of Austria
Seeing the elaborate Baroque interiors of Churches in Austria reminded me of scenes of Italian churches. Sure enough, the Austrians imported artists from Italy to paint and gold leaf with no limit to the cost. The churches were to remind people of heaven and attract the masses back to the Catholic Church after the rise of Martin Luther. I was surprised to see St. George and the Dragon in the front of a church sanctuary.
