The top version I tried a tone mapping of an old negative from 1994. The second version I reduced many of the details and kept the image believable yet more of a painted rendition. I used Topaz for the second effect.

You heard of the golden egg, this is the Golden Nest at Chicago's Garfield Park Conservatory.
I was photographing at the Garfield Park Conservatory and seeing the beautiful lagoon with fish and green vegetation everywhere. I tried out my Imacon Scanner and it works fine after sitting for 4 years. Now that I am totally into digital capture I really need to sell this equipment. This image was photographed with 6 X 7 camera and Velvia Film. The only real Photoshop work was cleaning up dust from the positive film.
