Unique Photo Images
Trinity Quilters
The Trinity Quilters Group sewed this quilt top in one night. The quilt is for a 8 year old church members that is under going treatment for Cancer. I used two lights to
illuminate the quilt. A photo paper stand was used to hang the quilt while taking the photograph. A 100 mm Macro lens was hand held with a high ISO. Color corrections were taken from some white and black colors in the quilt. The entire quilt project was completed in five days.
Ice Bumps
Ice formations near waterways are similar to clouds. One can see into the formations and see many
familiar objects.
Another Spring Flower Altered for Color and Design
This
Hyacinth flower provided color and initial structure and was ran through the Polar Coordinates Filter found in
Photoshop and Elements. The filter was repeated many times to get this result.
Graue Mill
This image had a 7 stop range. Using Photomatrix Pro I was able to hold the highlights and had good blacks. This software is worth checking out.
Old Buildings along the Euro. Rivers
Colorful cross beamed buildings and cobble stone streets are still the style of old German and Austrian River towns. This image was taken early in the morning October 2007.
Would you Believe?
I took a photograph of the twisted cables behind a computer. Then I put the image into
Photoshop CS3 and ran a series of the Filter-Polar
Coordinates. Then I cut the image into half and the above pattern resulted. A smooth image from a mess of cords and cables.
More River Scenes from Germany and Austria
More scenes from along the great rivers of Europe.
Lunar Eclipse February 20, 2008
I went outside last night and took four different shots of the lunar eclipse. Used a 100-400 with a 2T tele extender. Most of trial shots were done with F16. Better colors were available by stopping down to F 22 but then even at 1600 ISO I started to get movement with the long exposures. I moved each image into one and converted to B&W.
On the Rhine River
This Sepia Tone photograph of one October morning on the Rhine shows the peaceful and quietness of early morning. Photographers can always find interesting images in the early morning.
From This Winter Scene to Flowers Indoors
From the cold winter scene in Door County, WI to the indoor photo of Flowers at the Des Plaines Park District Display. Both of these images were taken with a small shirt pocket camera. Thus, always have a camera with you!!!!!
Winter Wonders "Ice Fan"
I continue to marvel at the natural wonders produced by nature. This could never be the same if man made. The formations were produced by blowing water and freezing on a dock in Door County, WI.

from Austria to Tucson, AZ
Here is simplistic lines of a church seen through the Cacti. The image was taken from a street corner in downtown Tucson.
Churches of Austria
Seeing the elaborate Baroque interiors of Churches in Austria reminded me of scenes of Italian churches. Sure enough, the Austrians imported artists from Italy to paint and gold leaf with no limit to the cost. The churches were to remind people of heaven and attract the masses back to the Catholic Church after the rise of Martin Luther. I was surprised to see St. George and the Dragon in the front of a church sanctuary.
Indoor Flowers
Flowers for a cold, snowy, winter day. These Orchids were photographed on the reception desk of our river boat in Europe during our October cruise. Through photography we can still enjoy the memory.
Big Snow melts
As the existing snow melts to make room for more, it is fun to keep a few of the winter memories by photographic images.
More Indoor Photography for Winter image making
Going to the Peggy Notebaret Nature Center at Lincoln Park in Chicago on an overcast day is great for capturing images of Butterflies and Moths. No tripod or flash was needed for this hand held, available light image digital image. A Canon 5D with a 24-105 mm lens.
Up and Close
Again using the Helicon Focus software and moving in closer to the center of the flower, one can control a greater depth of field.
